Yes. Every time UMass scores (a basket or a free throw), the lights you picked pulse in their colors. Basketball scores come fast, so the lights flash at most once every 30 seconds. A team flashes at most once every 30 seconds.

They can. Scores come from public scoreboards and can land a few seconds before or after the broadcast, and streams often run 30 seconds or more behind. Give each light a TV delay (up to 60 seconds) and it waits before flashing.

What happens when UMass scores

illumiscore checks the scoreboard every few seconds during the game. When their score goes up (a basket or a free throw), the lights you picked pulse between the team's two colors for about 16 seconds (Govee lights switch between them for about 10), then go back to how they were. Basketball scores come fast, so the lights flash at most once every 30 seconds.
