Which lights work
illumiscore flashes LIFX and Govee lights that show colors and connect to Wi-Fi. No smart lights yet? One bulb is enough: the free plan flashes one light for one team.
Works
- LIFX color bulbs, strips and downlights, set up in the LIFX app
- Most Govee color bulbs, strips, TV backlights and lamps on Wi-Fi, set up in the Govee Home app (your dashboard lists the ones it can flash)
Doesn't work (yet)
- Govee lights that only use Bluetooth: look for Wi-Fi on the box
- White-only bulbs, and other brands such as Philips Hue, WiZ or Nanoleaf (tell us which you'd like)

The cheapest way in: screw one into the lamp next to your TV. Sold in 2- and 4-packs; one bulb is enough for the free plan.

A light strip behind the TV, so the whole wall goes to your team's colors right where you're watching. Pick a Wi-Fi version: some backlights are Bluetooth only.

LIFX SuperColor bulb
Model A19, 1100 lumens
The brightest bulb here, and LIFX lights pulse on their own, so the flash is smooth. Connects straight to Wi-Fi, no hub.

Before you buy
- Wi-Fi, not just Bluetooth. illumiscore reaches your lights through LIFX's and Govee's clouds, so the light has to be on Wi-Fi.
- Govee needs 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Most home routers have it; if setup fails, check your router isn't 5 GHz only.
- Set LIFX lights up in the LIFX app, even if you also use Apple Home or Google Home, so they show up in your LIFX account.
- Put one near the TV. A lamp beside the screen or a strip behind it is where a flash feels like the arena.
